Animal Collective Announces New EP “The Painters” for February 2017 Release And Share New Track “Kinda Bonkers”

American experimental pop band Animal Collective have their fans celebrating this week when they announced they’d be releasing a new EP called The Painters on Friday, February 17. The album will stand as a companion project to Painting With , their most recent album released last year. Then just when you think you couldn’t get more stoked, they released a new song called “Kinda Bonkers,” from the upcoming EP.

The track is complex and has sort of an indie sound with a tribal twist. The colorful and abstract lyrical video is currently on YouTube and has received almost 40,000 hits already since being up less than 24 hours. The song begins with a lovely breakfast related metaphor that seems oddly relatable:

Life is so french toast to me
If you wait too long
it get’s black and weak

Check out the rest of the song yourself below.

They recently announced Spring 2017 tour dates so fans will be able to catch their favorite band on tour and get an opportunity to see some of Animal Collective’s newest material. Last year their album Painting With got positive reviews from critics and fans alike, topping the US Billboard 200 list.

The Painters EP tracklist:
01. Kinda Bonkers
02. Peacemaker
03. Goalkeeper
04. Jimmy Mack
