Blues is back in style thanks to Little Hurricane. The rock and blues band released their new song, OTL this past month. After two successful albums, Little Hurricane look to build up hype for their third album, Same Sun Same Moon, releasing in early April. They make their way to Boots and Saddles in downtown Philadelphia this April.
Band members Tony Catalano and Celeste Spina first met in 2010. While many have compared them to White Stripes, Little Hurricane is in a league of their own. Their mix of blues with new age indie has been a trademark of their music. Little Hurricane’s breakout hit, Sun Sets West, received multiple positive reviews. Apart from touring with many other similar bands, their songs have been used in various commercials. Little Hurricane has a huge following in San Deigo, where it all began. Gold Fever, Little Hurricane’s second album won Best Album of the Year in the San Deigo Music Awards.
Being compared to the likes of Black Pistols Fire, The Peach Kings, and My Goodness is no small feat. Little Hurricane has headlined over 10 festivals all over the world. The songs they sing had meaning behind it, not many artists have that now. I would highly recommend Little Hurricane to any looking for great blues.
