The Weeknd and Daft Punk performed together at the 2017 Grammys on Sunday night, singing their hit “I Feel It Coming.” This was one of two of the tracks collaborated on by the three artists for The Weeknd‘s latest album Starboy.
The performance was introduced by Michael Jackson’s Daughter Paris, whose iconic father has, ironically, been compared to The Weeknd vocally, especially for the laters work on Starboy. Full performance can be seen below.
The performance kicked off with Daft Punk walking on stage through what seemed to be a portal from the future and manning the keyboards while The Weeknd took center stage and held the spot light through out. While this is the first time Daft Punk have been on stage since the Grammys three years ago, the duo didn’t seem to miss a step along side The Weeknd.
Due to Starboy missing the cut off for this year, The Weeknd is only nominated for his contribution on Beyonce’s Lemonade. Although, the artist burst into the Grammy books last year taking home two awards for best urban contemporary album and best R&B performance for “Earned It.” The Weeknd has received a total of eight Grammy awards as of late.
Daft Punk are not up for an award at this year’s Grammys but have been making appearances since their first nomination back in 1998. The duo wouldn’t take home their first Grammy till 2009 for best dance/electronic album and best dance recording.
