The Jesus and Mary Chain has come through and released a new song titled “Always Sad”. The release of this song comes just a few months after the announcement that The Jesus and Mary Chain will be releasing their new album “Damage and Joy” in March of 2017.
The cover of the album has somewhat of a nostalgic factor with the use of a bowl of soup and noodles that spell out the title of the album. Damage and Joy will be the first album released by the Scottish born band in 18 years. In 1998, the group released their first album Munki, but did not follow that release up with another because the group broke up in 1999. The group would not be seen performing together on stage until 2007 at a festival in the United Kingdom and Coachella.
With the release of their new album Damage and Joy coming up in Spring of 2017, there is no word yet on whether or not a tour will be the follow up announcement, but fans should stay on the lookout as an announcement can come any day now.
