New wave legend Blondie and American-Scottish alternative rock outfit Garbage announced that they will be co-headlining a North American tour, dubbed “The Rage and Rapture Tour,” set to kick off on July 5th in California and wrap up August 12th in Texas. John Doe & Exene Cervenka will provide support on the first leg of the tour and Deap Vally will be joining in on the action for the second half. Tickets will be available starting next Friday, February 17.

Since their heyday in the mid-late ’70s, Blondie remains the legendary classic outfit that redefined the various genres of music it touched, from their punk roots to their disco projects later. A true cultural icon, Blondie, with Debbie Harry, continues to inform the worlds of music, fashion and art. From an irreverent Lower East Side punk outfit to bona fide international ambassadors of New York cool, Blondie will forever be synonymous with that punk spirit that lives somewhere in all of us.

Blondie’s chart-topping success, fearless spirit and rare longevity led to an induction into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, a NME Godlike Genius Award in 2014, a Q Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music in 2016, and more than 40 million albums sold worldwide to date. Debbie’s persona and the band’s boundary-pushing pop have shaped the look and sound of many chart-topping female artists who followed in the last three decades. And their upcoming 11th album, Pollinator (out May 5th via BMG), delves even deeper into this idea.

Garbage will also be headlining the tour, after releasing their 6th album, Strange Little Birds, just last year. Garbage, consisting of Shirley Manson, Duke Erikson, Steve Marker, and the legendary Butch Vig, inspired massive worldwide attention after their self-titled debut in 1995. They continued to garner massive success with sophomore LP Version 2.0, and went on to release 2001’s Beautiful Garbage and 2005’s Bleed Like Me. After a 7-year hiatus, the band came back with Not Your Kind of People in 2012 and is still going strong today.
