Milky Chance @ The Independent 3/10

Electronic rock band Milky Chance is making their way over to San Francisco this winter. The band will be performing at The Independent on March 10th, so go marvel at the Painted Ladies a little before hand then come hit this show up. This will be one of the few shows that the band will be opened by musician Noah Kahan.

The Germany based trio that makes up Milky Chance started making music together back in 2012. Most recently the band has put out a few singles over the past two years. They include 2016’s Cocoon and 2017’s Doing Good. Both have the classic sound from their previous work, but with more electronic components. Impressively the band had only played two previous live shows before they DIY’ed it up and recorded their first album in the home of singer Clemens Rehbein. The band blew up with their song Stolen Dance back in 2013 which became not only a viral hit, but a commercial success as well. With that success their 2014 debut DIY album entitled Sadnecessary was dropped. The album’s’ hits included their wildly epic song Stolen Dance, Down By The River, and Stunner. From there the band has only garnered more success in the States and on the International stage. Their song Down By The River is featured in the video game FIFA 15. The band’s sound is a good mix of electronic rock, folk, and reggae. Their vocals of Rehbein are unique, his tone is a cool mix of gritty and soulful. The accompanying band fits the vocals perfectly, their lyrics are fun and insightful.

Fans of alt-J, Vance Joy, and Hozier will be down for this show. For a little preview check out the original video that started it all on YouTube or peep their performances from their various appearances on late night shows like their performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Come check these dudes out and have an experience that will blow ya mind.
