Marcel Everett is the man behind the moniker XXYYXX. Everett broke in to the music scene at just 16 years of age, producing chilling down-tempo electronic beats with noticeably strong hip hop elements. His bass heavy tracks have given XXYYXX worldwide notoriety. From making bedroom beats to playing some the world’s biggest stages, it is clear to see that the music of XXYYXX is something special.
The Orlando, Florida native has released two albums so far—2011’s Still Found and his self-titled album that dropped a year later. Apart from his full-length efforts, XXYYXX has also released several EP’s, singles, and remixed songs from popular musicians such as Beyoncé, Tinashe, and Usher—Everett was also credited on the 2016 Tory Lanez track, “Flex”. Everett’s popularity has given him the opportunity to play some of the world’s biggest festivals such as Shambhala Festival and last year’s Beach Goth fest. It’s been some time since we’ve had any new material from XXYYXX, but hopefully 2016 will see the release of Everett’s long awaited and hotly anticipated third studio album.
XXYYXX will embark on a six-show tour, starting on February 10th in San Francisco, California. Be sure to check out the talented young producer at Empire Control Room on the 18th.
