The pop-punk geniuses of Say Anything are coming to San Francisco this spring! They are hitting up the Fillmore on April 26th. The band is co-headlining the tour with rock band Bayside and will be opened by the band Reggie and the Full Effects.
Say Anything has been in the pop-punk scene for a bit, but have continued to capitalize on their success by putting out versatile work. The Los Angeles based band started out way back in 2000 and have been touring and recording ever since. Recently, the band put out I Don’t Think It Is in 2016. That album is responsible for the singles 17 Coked Up Speeding, #Blessed, and Rum. Previous to that the band has steadily put out seven other albums over their career. Their most notable songs are Wow I Can Get Sexual Too and Alive With The Glory Of Love from their 2004 album … Is A Real Boy, 2009’s self-titled album’s Do Better, Hate Everyone, and Less Cute, and lastly, 2013’s A Walk Through Hell and Sappy. Say Anything above all has managed to keep a huge following as they experiment with different styles of rock music. They’re song Admit It!!! is a great example of their ability to keep their music fresh; this song is a long winded, amazing, rant-style song where Max Bemis belts out everything he dislikes about people. It’s amazing and perfect, it manages to make the audience chuckled and still want to sing along as if it were a power ballad. The band continues this theme with the song Admit it Again, just adding an amazing connecting between their two albums. Then, with their song Alive With The Glory of Love is a beautiful love song about Bemis’ grandparent’s relationship during World War II as jewish people.
This band can do sensitive and love songs justice, and in hand can do power ballads or satirical songs just as well. Say Anything, can well.. do anything. Fans of Cartel, Saves The Day, and The Wonder Years are gonna be down for this show. I saw this band absolutely kill it when they toured with The Front Bottoms a few years ago and it’s a show I still can remember clearly. It was fun, lively, and memorable. Hit click and I’ll catch you at this show for some laughs, some screaming, and some fun.
