According to Under The Radar Magazine. Peter Silberman, guitarist and vocalist for rock band The Antlers, has released today his version of The Flaming Lips’ “Feeling Yourself Disintegrate”, using his music to stage for another Anti-Trump Project “Our First 100 Days”.
Silberman, who will be releasing his upcoming new album Impermanence, took it upon himself to cover a classic Flaming Lips track “Feeling Yourself Disintegrate”, but putting his vocal spin on the already well-known original track.
For what seems to be the strong theme of the last couple of weeks, Silberman is not the first of many to add his opinion on the recent political events in the US. Teaming up with the folks responsible for “30 Days, 30 Songs”, the Anti-Trump campaign during the election, joined Secretly Group for “Our First 100 Days” intending on releasing a new song every day for the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency. Beginning with Angel Olsen’s song “Fly on The Wall“, and continuing on with songs by PWR BTTM (“Vacation”), Avery Tare of Animal Collective (“Visit The Dojo”), Jason Molina (“Royoko”), Women (“Group Transport Hall”), Suuns (“Native Tongue”) , and Tilman Robinson with Luke Howard (“Requiem for 2016”), each giving a unique song that provides their musical narrative on the current state of affairs.
With other artists that plan on taking part of this project, including Mitski, Whitney, Toro Y Moi, TORRES, Strand of Oaks, The Range, Tim Heidecker, Will Oldham, The Mountain Goats, Jens Lekman, Cherry Glazerr, Peter Silberman of The Antlers, Bully, Twin Peaks, Wild Nothing, How to Dress Well, and many more. it is evident that nobody will make their opinion unheard.
