Telefon Tel Aviv Announce Winter 2017 Tour Dates

Telefon Tel Aviv have just announced a string of tour dates for the Winter of 2017.

The New Orleans grown electronic former-duo, Telefon Tel Aviv, has just announced a Winter of 2017 handful of shows starting next month. There are six shows as of now and they are set to start on February 22 and run till March 10. The tour will take Joshua Eustis to cities such as New York, Detroit, San Francisco, Chicago, Monteal and Washington DC. For all ticketing information and a full list of tour dates, see below.

Telefon Tel Aviv was formed by two high school friends from New Orleans, the formerly named Joshua Eustis and the late Charles Cooper. The two wrote the original demo for the band that was sent to Hefty Records back in 1999, which got them an album deal the next year. The two continued to make music together until 2009 when tragedy struck in Coopers accidental death. Since then Eustis discontinued all work under the Telefon Tel Aviv name and started working on a separate solo career.

In 2014, Eustis released a solo album on Audraglint Recordings as Sons of Magdalene called Move To Pain. According to the press release, it was after “years of self-doubt” that Eustis decided to take the band name out of retirement and continue its work. The reissue of the duo’s debut album on Ghostly International was also a motivating factor for Eustis to continue with the music. The first tour back was in Spring of 2016 and will be followed right up by this newly announced Winter tour. There is new material currently being worked on that will be released under the Telefon Tel Aviv alias aswell with no talk of any sort of replacement for the late friend.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
