Allison Weiss @ The Chapel 5/2

Indie-pop singer Allison Weiss is coming to the city this spring on her AW Solo Tour. She’s touring with Tim Kasher on this spring tour. She’ll be playing the Chapel on May 2nd.

Allison Weiss has been touring the country and selling her indie/pop-punk style since 2007. Her most recent release was 2015’s New Love, which produced the hits Golden Coast, Back To Me, and Who We Are. Previous to this she released 2013’s Say What You Mean, which released the singles I’ll Be Okay, Making It Up, and One Way Love. Then, she has released five EPs before she has signed with a label, where she released another. Those include her popular songs such as a Robyn cover of Call Your Girlfriend, I Was An Island, The End, and You + Me + Alcohol. What’s the most impressive is Weiss managed to released most of her work independently for the better part of her musical career. Her sound is easily translatable for radio with her smooth melodic voice and songs about heartache or love, but she also fits perfectly in with the indie-rock and pop-punk genre. I remember going to my last Warped Tour and she was playing the acoustic stage after one of my favorite musicians. Her voice was so beautiful, I stuck around and have been a fan ever since. This lady is pretty kickass outside of her music, she politically active and keeps it fresh on social media too.

Fans of Birdy, Into It. Over It., and Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties will fall for this singer and should pick up tickets. Don’t stumble onto Weiss like me, snatch up some tickets and keep her on your radar.
