Controversy erupted around the group Slayer when singer Tom Araya shared a photoshopped image of the band posing with Donald Trump on the Slayer Band Official Instagram page. Araya admitted that it was him who posted the picture because he thought it was humorous. He was amazed by pouring in of positive and negative comments especially after only 2 hours the post reached 10,000 likes. The singer continues as he never guessed that there would be “so many snowflakes commenting their distasted for the new president.” Bring up a valid point whether it is wrong or right “like him or not he is the president.” After much comments, Araya adds “Mike pence turning fruits into vegetables.” He admits that he does not speak for the whole band, but that the picture did what he thought, “piss some of you off.”

After such a post, the rest of Slayer have distanced their opinion from Araya’s post. The rest of Slayer affirms that this was Araya’s post and that it is “not something the band would have posted if asked” and it does not belong on a Slayer social page. Each of the members have their own opinions some that have been heard in the past. The band has “never endorsed any political party or any candidate” and they continue to state that “the band intends to keep it that way.”
