Equal parts eccentric and ambitious, emocore/progressive rock Coheed and Cambria have annouced a 10-year anniversary tour in celebration of their album Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness. Supporting the band will be The Dear Hunter, a group with similar ambitions to expand the post-hardcore genre. The band has a further announcement, as Claudio Sanchez (guitars/vocals) has announced that he will be releasing a comic book of the same name – it will be a part of The Armory War series, which began with the band’s debut album The Second Stage Turbine Blade.
For the uninitiated, brace yourself: The band completed The Armory Wars series with their fifth full length Year of the Black Rainbow, which in narrative order is actually a prequel to The Second Stage Turbine Blade. Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness constitutes part one of a two-part fourth installment of The Armory Wars. The album proved to be a bit of a crossover success for the band, selling over a million copies on the strength of singles like “Welcome Home.”
The group last released their eighth full-length, The Color Before the Sun, the band’s first non-concept album.
