On April 14-15 2017, metal fans in Michigan will be in heaven at Berserker IV. The festival boasts an incredible range of some of heavy music’s most revered acts, including Gwar, Off! and Negative Approach. Of course, the biggest news is that this will be the first show for Eyehategod lead singer Mike IX Williams. The singer faced scary bout with liver disease, and received transplant in mid-December. In the meantime the band has called upon an all-star lineup of metal vocalists, including Randy Blythe of Lamb of God and Phil Anselmo.
Another act to catch is Brain Tentacles, which features members of Municipal Waste, Keelhaul and Corrections House. The band brings a jazz-influenced style of metal; think more Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower than Dillinger Escape Plan, but with a little bit of Daptones-style soul thrown in.
Also near the top of the lineup is long-running metal legends The Obsessed, who have been around since the mid-70s. Stoner metal stalwarts Weedeater will perform a set, as will Tim Morse of Anal Cunt, performing under the moniker Horrible Earth.
The festival takes place at The Crofoot, a three-in-one venue in the city of Pontiac, Michigan. Find tickets for Day 1 here and Day 2 here.
UPDATE (3/17): Ohio metallic hardcore crew Ringworm has been announced as the final headliner for Berzerker IV.
