The American sludge metal band EyeHateGod is currently on their 2016 world tour, which followed their Summer tour earlier this year. During the early months in Summer, Eyehategod had to recruit Phillip Anselmo to step in for Williams while he recovered from previous health issues. Now as they’re kick starting another tour this fall with Discharge and Toxic Holocauset, Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe temporarily joined the group while Williams tends to his health.
Luckily, a video clip of Eyehategod and Blythe from their performance in Portland, OR at Dante’s has been released so fan’s who didn’t snag tickets for the tour can catch their favorite band play live. In the video, they perform their 2012 hit single, “New Orleans is the Vietnam.” Check Below to watch the whole clip.
Williams only had good things to say about Blythe and Phillip stepping into his place. He praised him, and said “To have Mr. Blythe on board as a fill in for me on vocals for this run is a true ‘circle-stays-unbroken’ turn of events! Coming off the heels of Philip Anselmo doing vocals for Eyehategod on two high profile shows, both of these men are at the top of their game. I am getting the medical help I need and will return to the band as soon as possible. Thank you, everybody…”
Randy Blythe also shared kind words, showing his enthusiasm for the tour and also wishing Williams a good recovery.
“I’ll be proud to do my bit on this tour and take the stage with what is undeniably one of the heaviest bands on earth.” He said. “It will be a savage experience; I can promise you that. Let the down-to-earth-motherf–kin’-post-amplification-blues begin! Hail Mike IX.”
