The brand new supergroup Crystal Fairy, made up of Le Butcherettes’ Teri Gender Bender, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez from At The Drive-ins, and the Melvins’ Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover, has just released a new song off their new upcoming album. They premiered their self-titled track from their debut LP, set to be released on February 24 via Ipecac Recordings.
“Panic attacks are man’s worst enemy but our most powerful mental invention, somehow we’ve managed to use them to calm our nerves down and let the music flow,” said Gender Benderin an interview about the song. “Sometimes the agony within the self makes it appropriate to let the jittery hands do the story telling.”
The group previously released two songs that kicked off fans’ anticipation for Crystal Fairy to make their mark on the industry, and showcase their capability together for the first time. The first two songs “Drugs on the Bus” and “Chiseler” are available online to listen to along with “Crystal Fairy.” Click below to listen to their newest track and be on the lookout for Crystal Fairy next month.
They will be packing the bus and hitting the road for the first time together in February, around the time of the album release. The small five city tour will only be making stops in California, including major cities: Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco.
2016 was an eventful year for several of the band members before debuting Crystal Fairy to the world. Band member Dale Crocker released an EP How To Get Ideas last October with Qui and Le Butcherettes released a new video for “My Mallely”.
