The California indie-rock duo “Foxygen” is at it again as they embark on their world tour after their fifth LP “Hang” was released early this year. Jonathan Rado and Sam France began making music when they were just teenagers in high school. Through their earlier years they released many self-produced EP’s, influenced by avant-garde and psychedelia, that eventually drew the attention of Jagjaguwar Records which released their first studio album “Take The Kids off Broadway.”
The group has since gained a reputation for it’s ultra-live and festive shows, based on France’s outlandish behavior and exciting antics. After their second album release “We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic” writers at Entertainment Weekly were spouting their support and excitement for the band as saying “We can’t stop playing the scruffy psych-rock duo’s Rolling Stones-obsessed album.” In January of 2013 Pitchfork also cited Foxygen under “Best New Music” in their review of the album.
