Following the inauguration of Donald Trump, protests have been on the rise. Scream, the hardcore punk band from Virginia, has released a video for “Politics is Entertainment”, after the announcement of the reissue of No More Censorship.
No More Censorship is originally that was released in 1988 through RAS Records. This was the first album to feature Dave Grohl, who was a drummer that went on to work with other bands such as being a drummer for Nirvana and Them Crooked Vultures and guitarist for Foo Fighters. Grohl has also joined Rise Against to perform “Came Without Warning” from the Scream’s Still Screaming album in 2015. Even though, in this reissue, the artist is featured; the artist is not featured in the song. According to the press release, the release’s sounds will be “vital and intense; the entire packaging, layout, and design will be completely different from the original, with the inclusion of photos, lyrics, poetry, and other personal writings from the band during that era, collected in an extensive booklet.”
In the video, there are scenes of cities and significant structures. Along with the scenes of the cities, there are scenes of events leading up to Donald Trump’s presidency and pictures of political cartoons. In the beginning of the video there is dancing but it transitions to videos of bombings and wars. The video for the song can be watched below.
