Surfer Blood @ Parish 2/1

Surfer Blood is a 4-piece indie rock band from West Palm Beach, Florida. Faithful to their name, the members of Surfer Blood embrace the lo-fi quality and catchy pop hooks found in surf rock music. In 2009. The group unveiled their first single, “Swim”, which garnered favorable buzz from many online media publications. They’ve also had the opportunity to play some of the world’s biggest music festivals, such as Primavera Sound, Summer Sonic, and Splendour in the Grass.

It was in Orlando, where frontman John Paul Pitts and Tyler Schwarz began playing shows under the name Jabroni Sandwich. As a full band began to formulate, the name was once again changed, this time to TV Club. Around this time, the group recorded much of what would be heard on their critically acclaimed debut, Astro Coast.  Surfer Blood has dealt with several line-up changes throughout their musical career–one, unfortunately due to the death of original guitarist, Thomas Feneke. Despite that tragic loss, the group still looks to the future, and are expected to drop their fourth full-length record, Snowdonia, next month on the 3rd.

Surfer Blood will perform live at the Parish on February 1st, only two days before the release of their new record.
