Spoon Release New Song “Hot Thoughts” and Announce Three Night SXSW Residency

American rock band Spoon‘s have announced they have a new album Hot Thoughts coming out on out March 17th on Matador Records. The new album marks the band’s first release on Matador since Telephono was released over 20 years ago in 1996. Hot Thought is the band’s ninth studio album and Spoon has shared the album’s title track which was produced with Flaming Lips collaborator Dave Fridmann.

Spoon have a handful of live dates lined up in support of Hot Thoughts as they celebrate the album’s release with a three-night hometown residency at this year’s SXSW on March 14-16. The band is giving their roots a nod and calling their SXSW residency on The Main “Eno’s” named after the original Spoon drummer Jim Eno. The live dates also include a set at Mad Cool Festival in Spain on July 7th as well as Panorama Festival in New York City on July 28th.
