With the release of her debut albumin 2001, Songs in A Minor, selling over 12 million copies world wide Alicia Keys became the best selling new artist and the best selling R&B artist, and she hasn’t looked back since. In 2002 the album won her 5 Grammy’s in one night which would lead her to become only the second American singer to achieve such a feat. Keys would go on to release her sophomore album The Diary of Alicia Keys which spawned numerous singles that sold a collective 8 million records world wide. These notable accolades have brought her up to this point, with numerous other awards and a spot on VH1’s top 100 artists of all time, Keys released her sixth studio album Here on November 4, 2016.
Her shows have moved people to tears, have helped other transcended the daily grind of life and it’s whirl-wind of problems. She is the co-founder and Global Ambassador of the Keep A Child Alive foundation and is a strong voice and activist in the fight agains HIV/AIDS.
