Indie rock band Spoon has announced their new album Hot Thoughts to be released on March 17th. Earlier this morning, Spoon fans on Indieheads Reddit discovered that Matador web store posted full details of the bands upcoming 9th studio album. However, the post was removed but not before fans were revealed the albums release date, track listing, and art work.

In 2016 Spoon confirmed they were currently recording an album and planned to release it in 2017. Hot Thoughts, will be the follow up to the Austin-natives 8th studio album They Want My Soul released in 2014. This release will also mark the bands return to their former label Matador Records.

Spoon preformed a few songs off their new album to a couple hundred lucky fans in Austin on Friday January 6th. Word had spread to fans via email, along with a ticket link to see the band preform at Antone’s. Frontman Britt Daniel told the audience, “Thanks for coming to our rehearsal” and also confirmed, “That’s the first time we’ve played those songs.”
