Round one of the Moogfest lineup announcement has been released and the lineup is seething with hot artists including Wolf Eyes, Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of SURVIVE, and Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeah’s. Check below for a list of the entire lineup.

The Four day festival will take place on May 18 through the 21 in Durham, NC. Moogfest has been going on since 2004, celebrating the collaboration between the various technicians of the arts and technology. Not only does it serve as a destination for amazing music, it’s also a host for dialogue between “artists, futurist thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, scientists, and musicians.” Last year’s lineup included artists such as Gary Numan, GZA, ODESZA, and Laurie Anderson who all gave fans the performance of a lifetime at the transformative festival.

Moogfest is named after Dr. Robert Moog, a pioneer in the technical and engineering side of music production. He contributed inventions such as the analog synthesizer to the music industry, allowing artists to create an electronic sound. On the website they include a sort of mission statement capturing the essance of their festival, noting “this exchange between engineer and musician is celebrated with a unique festival format where the creative process is understood as a collaboration among many people, across time and space, in commerce and culture.”

Tickets for the festival starts at $99 for pre-sale early bird tickets and goes all the way up to an engineer pass at $1,500. A normal festival pass is going for $249, so to get your ticket for the best price make sure to buy it early.

UPDATE 03/15: Many new artists added to the lineup including Flying Lotus, Animal Collective, and Gotye.

McKenzie Dillon: University of Nevada, Reno Alumna. I graduated with a major in writing and a minor in journalism. I enjoy reading, writing, and listening to music of course. I was raised in the bay area, and am thrilled to be living back in California. Catch me at your local music festival, because there's nothing better than laying back in the grass and listening to your favorite bands or discovering new ones.
