Run The Jewels @ City National Civic 2/2

Rapping duo Run The Jewels are making their way into the south bay this winter, they are making a stop in San Jose to hit up the City National Civic. It’s a bit out of the way, but this is a show you don’t want to miss, I promise.

Run The Jewels is composed of rapper/producer El-P and rapper Killer Mike, both notable artists individually. El-P is a killer music producer and has put out albums solo in the past and with his previous group Company Flow. As for Killer Mike, he’s been in the rap game a long time (like 20 years a long time!), has dropped five solo albums, and appeared on singles with the likes of T.I and Outkast. The duo has put out three albums, including their most recent release, Run The Jewels 3. That album is notable for the songs Talk To Me and Legend Has It. Their other huge hits are Close Your Eyes, Down, and Blockbuster Night, Pt.1. The duos’ style is aggressive and confrontational rap; they confront social issues, they encourage street art, and pay tribute to Marvel on their album covers.

As the two rappers embark on their Run The World Tour, they will also appearing alongside the acts The Gaslamp Killer, Cuz, Gangsta Boo, and Nick Hook. That’s a lot of bang for your buck; five A1-acts for one stop, now that’s how you stretch a dollar my dudes. Those who are fans of Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples, and Big Boi will be down for this show and into the rap duo. Make the trip via the Caltrain on 4th and King or take a nice car ride down the 208 to San Jose, because this show is gonna be lit.
