WHY? Has announced that they will release their sixth album Moh Lhean on March 3rd, 2017 via Joyful Noise Recordings. Moh Lhean is reportedly a follow up album to the 2012 album, Mumps, Etc. release. Moreover, this is the first fully home-recorded album that WHY? Has released since their debut album back in 2003.

In more recent events, they have released a single from this upcoming album “The Ole King.” Moh Lhean opens up with this lead single, which begins with a slower acoustic sound and amplifies into a kaleidoscope pop sound. The suppleness of the track’s resonance may come from the Anna Stewart. Wolf spent some of this album in collaboration with Stewart—an ex of Wolf’s. Wolf has covered songs and is clearly inspired in this album by artists such as Bob Dylan and Pavement. For example, the track “The Water” has a folk-element about it that could be attributed to a young Bob Dylan.

Some reports indicate that this album is a breakup album without romantic interest, hence Wolf incorporating emotionally driven lyrics throughout “The Ole King”. Such as, “One thing, there is no other. Only this, there is not other.. Just layers of this one thing.”

Apparently, when asked what “Moh Lhean” means, Wolf refuses to answer. Fortunatley, an insider mentioned that it is the name of his home-studio, where a multitude of people: Josiah, Matt Meldon, Doug McDiarmid, Liz Wolf, Ben Sloan and a few more people came together to record this album. Wolf’s North American tour dates will be announced in March and April. In the mean time, check out “The Ole King” below!
