In honor of Elliott Smith’s renowned Either/Or album’s 20th anniversary, Kill Rock Stars have made an announcement concerning an expanded edition album. Larry Crane, owner of Jackpot! Studios and curator of the Estate of Elliott Smith spoke with The New York Times about this recent announcement. The extended album will be released on March 10th, 2017 on 2LP, 2CD and digital copies.
Of course, the album expansion will include the original tracks. However, Larry Crane has remastered the original tracks. The second disc in the album incorporated a five multi-track recording live from the show Yo Yo A Go Go Festival in Olympia, WA back in 1997. Along with, three unreleased studio recordings and one flip side track. Check out one of the released songs below.
The Either/Or: Expanded Edition will be presented to fans in a gatefold cover that includes a few gems inside. Once opened up, inside the album you will see original liners notes, a postcard of the original master tapes and several photos that have never been seen before.
