Mark Johns @ The Fillmore 2/9

Solo singer Mark Jones is coming to the Fillmore in February! She’s hitting the road with the band The Knocks on their Feel Good Feel Great Tour. Alongside artist Skyler Spence, Mark Jones will be opening the show; get pumped for her dope set she’s gonna be playing.

Mark Jones is the stage name for the young singer Naomie, who is a Canadian-born girl from Singapore. Not going to lie, when I looked up her music on Spotify I was surprised not only that she was a kickass girl, but how rad her music is. She is the newest solo artist to be signed the Skrillex’s fast growing label OWSLA. Through her signing with OWSLA, Mark Johns joins the ranks of the successful electronic label alongside DJs AC Slater, Mija, and Vindata. What’s unique about Mark Johns is unlike most on her label she sings rather than being a master mixer of the beats. Recently, she dropped her EP Molino back in 2016. That EP is known for its songs Molino, Bacardi, and Wait Till Tmrw. Previous to her recent EP she’s dropped her notable single BFTU (Mommy Issues), which is one of my favs of hers and has appeared on several singles of peers, like her collab with Manila Killa, Diamonds for Breakfast, from the 2016 compilation Moving Castles.

Her style is similar to Manila Killa, Halsey, and Lorde so fans of those ladies will be into this one’s smooth voice. Her rise into fame is just beginning as the ink on her record deal is still fresh. With her in the hands of Sonny Moore, aka Skrillex, Mark Johns, who is not a dude, is only going to soar from here. Go check out ya girl Mark Johns at the Fillmore and know all about her before she blows up.
