A band that needs know introduction or explanation. With much of it’s original roster still in tact, the seemingly immortal Jonathan Davis heads his group as they set off on a world tour that includes a stop right in our backyard of Anaheim at the House of Blues on March 6th to promote their 12th studio album The Serenity of Suffering.
To a degree, it’s hard to believe an artist, let alone an entire band could have the longevity that Korn has been able to ascend to. 25 years is a long time in any profession, especially one as demanding and rigorous as the entertainment industry, more so the music industry and even more specifically performing and touring the world. As many have known, Jonathan Davis and Korn are an exception to all rules that govern this realm as they continue to top rock charts and produce a product that demands respect and a pit of rockers who feel the music and intensity course through their veins.
The band has been on a tireless tirade of aggressive lyricism, screeching guitar riffs and the occasional barrage of bagpipes since their first album was released in 1994 and seems as though there are no signs of letting up. The Serenity of Suffering leaves no questions unanswered as to whether or not they can still bring it as their lead single Rotting in Vein brings brings forth Davis’s signature melodic yet treacherous ramblings and seemingly hollow feeling yet rugged verses. Enjoy it while it lasts, it’s great to hear a band remaining true to their sound while still being able to bring the energy they do.
