Memphis punk outfit, NOTS, are riding the high of their latest sophomore record, Cosmetic. Vocalist/guitarist Natalie Hoffmann, along with Charlotte Watson (drums), Alexandra Eastburn (keyboards) and Meredith Lones (bass), are the ladies behind the chaotic music of NOTS. Part of their noisy punk rock aesthetic can be attributed to the economic frustration and tension of living in Memphis.
NOTS’ aggressive nature can be heard on their debut release, We Are Nots, which dropped on Goner Records in 2014. The band initially signed with the label in 2013, when they submitted a demo that later got a full release as their first EP, Dust Red. Through touring and word of mouth, NOTS’ demand quickly grew, leading to a spot at the 2013 SXSW music festival, and expanding the reach of their music even further. Eventually, the popularity of NOTS led them to embark on headlining tours across the US, and more recently, Europe.
