The rock world was rattled following the bomb lineup announcement for the 2017 Tons of Rock Festival set to take place on June 22 through the 24 in Halden, Norway. Major headliners include slasher legends Slayer, Rob Zombie and Blink-182. Tickets are officially available as of October and you can find purchasing information on the Festival’s website. For English speaking festival goers there is a separate tab containing all the important information from the website in English in order to avoid any confusion.

Additional metal acts set to perform this year include Emperor, Satyricon, Sodom. Last year the lineup bragged of big names like Black Sabbath, Amon Amarth and Megadeth who rocked the festival stages. The surrounding area also contributed to the festival’s overall experience, being located directly inside the Fredriksten Fortress which was built in 1660. Saying the Fortress is historic would be an understatement, as countless major events have taken place there–including a battle in 1718 where Swedish king Charles XII was killed. Naturally, this place is the perfect location for a hardcore rock festival to take place.

Tons of Rock Festival Headliner Blink 182 will also be performing at Hurricane festival in Germany around the same exact time, hitting major festival stages back to back. Rob Zombie and Slayer are also featured on an additional lineups, as Zombie is set to headline Graspop Metal Meeting in 2017, and Slayer will grace the main stage of Hellfest Open Air Fest in the new year as well.
