Throughout time, there have been many different festivals to come and go. Not all of them have been able to withstand time. One of the festivals that have been able to stay around is the Essence Festival. The Essence Festival, located in New Orleans, has been something to look forward to for New Orleans residents. Possibly a reason for the festival’s ability to withstand time is the tourists that it brings to New Orleans. The lineup for Essence Festival performers has long been filled with artist’s who represent soul music, particularly African American artists from the past and newer artists.
In 2014, the lineup featured artists like Prince, The Roots, Janelle Monae, August Alsina, Charlie Wilson, and Naughty by Nature. This year is no different, as the lineup features a number of great artists:
