WATCH: Aphex Twin Releases New Live Video From First US Performance in Eight Years at Day For Night Festival

After announcing earlier this year in September that he will be holding his first US live show in 8 years, Aphex Twin (né Richard David James) has finally come through with the performance.

The alternative electronic dance/ambient musician hit the stage on Houston’s Day For Night Festival on Saturday night. A dedicated fan has made a full audio recording of the set here, and fan-shot video footage can be found for a majority of the show. Apparently the various fans on the Aphex Twin subreddit have begun to piece together the evening’s 2 hour setlist.

Apparently, the musician also started selling a mysterious vinyl record at the merchandise stand following the show’s conclusion. With only 500 copies available to purchase, fans were desperate to get their hands on this exclusive piece of music. Apparently the A-side and B-side of the record were different versions of the same track; Consequence of Sound had uploaded rips of both sides, but had them quickly removed.

The record came in the form of a 12-inch, blank, white vinyl with no tracklist or credits. Resale of the record has been continuing to climb.

Aphex Twin will be appearing at additional shows, including gigs at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound, London’s Field Day Festival, and Finland’s Flow Festival.
