Sunn O))) Announces Winter 2017 Tour Dates

American drone metal band Sunn O))) will take to the road in March for a North American tour with Big | Brave starting in Washington, DC and ending with the Convergence Festival in the UK. For the festival, the band will be supported by the classically trained Icelandic singer and cellist Hildur Guðnadóttir. Guðnadóttir has played and recorded with bands such as Pan Sonic, Throbbing Gristle, and Múm, and also has a solo project titled Lost In Hildurness.

Sunn O))) experiments with a variety of styles and sounds and is named after the Sunn amplifier brand, the logo of which includes a circle next to the “SUNN” banner with waves heading off to the right. When performing live, the band wears robes, fills the air with fog, and is known and loved for playing at an extremely high volume. Supported by a varying cast of collaborators, the band was formed by two core members Stephen O’Malley and Greg Anderson.

This past Summer, Sunn O))) has been touring across Europe including a breathtaking performance in the center of the world’s largest labyrinth: Labirinto Della Masone in rural Italy. For a free download of their track “青木ヶ原 // 樹海“ head to the band’s Bandcamp, where they are also offering a holiday discount throughout the rest of the month.
