Haim teased earlier this week that they will release their sophomore album this upcoming summer. The trio released their lone studio album Days Are Gone back in 2013.

The Haim sisters told Entertainment Weekly they recorded the album primarily by themselves with production assistance from pop-producer Ariel Rechtshaid and indie super-producer and former Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmaglij.

“There’s a lot of cooks in the kitchen anyway,” Alana Haim said to EW. “There’s three perfectionists in our band, and to add anymore people would be too much of a party.”

The band recently cancelled the rest of their European tour to finish working on the new album.

“We write everything, we play everything, and we help produce everything,” Danielle Haim added. “These things take time, and we refuse to put out anything we’re not 100 percent in love with.”

The band said the new album has a more “raw, organic” sound. Previously live-debuted songs “Nothing’s Wrong” and “Give Me Just a Little of Your Love” reflect this new approach.

Rechtshaid and Batmanglij have music-related ties to each other and to the Haim sisters. Rechtshaid received a production credit on Days Are Gone. Collectively, Rechtshaid and Batmanglij were also the sole producers on Vampire Weekend’s third LP, Modern Vampires of the City.
