American indie rock band Spoon took to their social media recently to give fans taste of a possible new album cover. This cryptic image isn’t being limited to social media, either. When visiting Spoon’s official website; the homepage asks for your email and country and then displays this message:
The teasing of this image is leading fans to speculate it’s a preview of the new Spoon album that expected to be released in March 2017. Spoon’s last full-length album, They Want My Soul, was released on August 5, 2014 by Loma Vista Recordings following releasing five records on Merge. In a surprise twist, this new cryptic possible album cover wasn’t released on either of those labels. Instead of being shared by Matador Records suggesting the band is returning to the label after 20 years. Matador Records previously released Spoon’s debut LP Telephono and Soft Effects EP in the mid-1990s, before the band split for Elektra to put out 1998’s A Series of Sneaks.
In addition to a possible new album cover fans of the Showtime drama, Shameless were also excited to have been treated to a brand new song from the band. In a recent episode, Showtime released a previously unheard studio version of “I Ain’t The One” following frontman Britt Daniel and keyboardist Alex Fischel having previously debuted the song live at a show in Mexico City earlier this year.
