The UK event Handmade Festival is returning to the O2 Academy Leicester and Attenborough Arts Centre for two days on April 29th and 30th, 2017. Some of the acts performing for the Leicester Festival are Twin Atlantic and Frightened Rabbit along with British Sea Power, Pulled Apart by Horses, Honeyblood, JAWS, Muncie Girls, Tigercub, Puppy and Idles across multiple stages at the event.
The Handmade Festival is a unique event with multi-venu music and arts in the city of Leicester. John Helps of the Leicester based instrumental band Maybeshewill developed the event originally as a way to bring exciting new music, art, comedy, film, and photography to the scene. Since the beginning the event has grown and is now run by John along with Nik Sharpe (The Cookie), Matt Kirk (Firebug), and Andy Wright (The Charlotte) followed by a strong list of other people of the arts. Some of the strong partnerships developed with the event from the begninning include Big Scary Monsters and Alcopop Records along with 2000 Trees and ArcTanGent Festivals. As the event has grown, they continue to involve multiple curators from all sorts of organizations from across the country.
As far as music of the festival, Handmade has partnered up with Big Scary Monsters and Alcopop Records again as well as new partnerships with Upset, Dork, Drowned in Sound and many more to provide a diverse line-up of acts.
Tickets are available on the Handmade Festival site here.
