San Francisco-based music promoter Noise Pop (who has been “championing independent culture since 1993”) remains today one of the nation’s leading independent music promoters and it’s namesake festival shows it. It may have started off with 5 bands playing at The Kennel Club for one night but it has grown in the last 24 years; expanding to 11 days, 160+ bands, 85 events, 25+ venues. Over the years Noise Pop festival has provided exposure to an exponential amount of talented artists including many who have gone on to widespread acclaim. The White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, The Flaming Lips, The Shins, Fleet Foxes, Bright Eyes, and Yoko Ono are just a few of the performers who have played the festival over the years. Featuring non-stop music from electronic to jazz to good ol’ rock n’ roll, the festival offers an opportunity for everyone and anyone to enjoy the celebration.

Complemented by art shows, film scores, talks, happy hours, after hours and more, Noise Pop truly champions independent culture. Needless to say, the Noise Pop Music & Arts Festival has become a San Francisco staple. Today they have released the second phase of artists that will be slated to perform at next year’s festival. Last month Noise Pop released Phase 1 which included acts like Vince Staples, Ty Segall, Kilo Kish, and the Radio Dept. For Phase 2 we know that first time since 2001, S.F. rockers Creeper Lagoon will perform alongside acts like Grandaddy, Radical Face, Electric Guest, the Joy Formidable, Hanni El Khatib, and the Bay Area’s own Hazel English and Rogue Wave.

The artwork for the 2017 fest was created by popular contemporary street artist Shepard Fairey who is noting only the OBEY Clothing founder but was also the mastermind behind Barack Obama’s 2008 “Hope” poster.
