Industrial-alternative rock legends Ministry (led by Al Jourgensen) is releasing the long-awaited Trax! Rarities double album on Cleopatra Records on December 9th. Trax! Rarities will be pressed on clear vinyl with a printed inner sleeve and the special limited edition double LP will include a collection of early rare tracks and versions from Ministry during their Wax Trax!-era alongside several previously unreleased gems from many of Jourgensen’s side projects including Revolting Cocks, PTP, Pailhead and 1000 Homo DJs. Jourgensen’s fans should also be excited to know this double LP will include the very rare Revolting Cocks track ‘Drums Along The Carbide!’ Trax! Rarities celebrates hidden gem from Ministry’s early days as a new wave synthpop band before they ultimately became the industrial metal pioneers they are known as today.
Jourgensen has proven himself to be the undisputed king of industrial music, godfathering a genre that millions have grown to love and providing inspiration for bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and KMFDM. Jourgensen is the only original member of Ministry remaining since the band’s formation in 1981. The loss of his best friend and Ministry bandmate Mike Scaccia resulted in him taking a few years off from Ministry but Jourgensen is once again making music despite numerous challenges.Jourgensen continues to influence and morph both in his style and music which is perfectly showcased in his latest project SMM (Surgical Meth Machine). He has also acted in movies and wrote an autobiography, called ‘Ministry: The Lost Gospels According To Al Jourgensen’.
