Sundance 2017 is beginning to look more and more interesting, with a total of 68 short films being added to the film festival’s lineup on Tuesday, including Kristen Stewart’s very own Come Swim. The short film itself was the ex “Twilight” star and current arthouse poster-child’s directorial and screenwriting debut. It was originally created as part of Refinery29’s (a women-focused media brand company) Shatterbox Anthology, a series of films by female directors.
Interestingly, the film was scored by the wildly popular indie-alternative pop musician St. Vincent (née Annie Clark), who was revealed to be dating Stewart a couple months ago. The couple appeared at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Show in Los Angeles in late October, and apparently they are already bringing their relationship to a professional level.
The story is described as a “diptych of one man’s day, half impressionist and half realist portraits.” Although this description itself is not much to base on, it’s certain that fans of both artists will be ready to watch the film when it premiers between January 19 – January 29 at Sundance.
St. Vincent herself will also be making her directorial debut soon as part of “XX,” a horror anthology film that tells “four deadly tales by four killer women.” Clark’s specific segment was cowritten by genre maven Roxanne Benjamin. Perhaps Stewart will return the favor and play a part in Clark’s film.
St. Vincent announced her involvement with the project via Twitter, eliciting responses like “girlfriend goals.”
