Yasiin Bey Announces The Completion of Albums Negus In Natural Person and As Promised Featuring Mannie Fresh

American hip-hop artist Yasiin Bey has announced the completion of two different albums after being given permission to leave South Africa. The first album is called Negus In Natural Person and the other is a collaboration with producer Mannie Fresh titeld As Promised.

Yasiin Bey has a couple farwell shows lined up, where he will be playing some of the songs from the upcoming albums. One show is scheduled at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and the other at Apollo Center in New York City.

“I will be premiering my new album, Negus In Natural Person, and me and Mannie Fresh’s project, which is called As Promised, at The Apollo on December 21,” said Bey in an on air interview, before playing a teaser of his unreleased music.

Bey will be releasing another collaborative project with artist Ferrari Shepard called December 99th. Together they make the band Dec 99th and the self-titled project will appropriately be released on Dec. 9 only thorough TIDAL.

In an interview with OkayPlayer, Ferrari said Bey will play “some songs off the album at least” during his farwell shows. While Ferarri also said there was “No release date for the albums,” yet, he has confirmed “They are complete.”

In January of this year, Yasiin Bey dropped the bombshell that he’d be quitting the music and Hollywood movie industry immediately, before scheduling his last few shows. Click here to see a complete list of tour dates in 2017 to catch one of Yasiin Bey’s final shows.

Not to worry, the artist still has a ton of new material up his sleeve before he bids the recording studio farewell. In the meantime before the new albums are released, click here to watch Bey and Badbadnotgood debut their song “Arcade” in South Africa.

Bey recently found himself in some hot water when he attempted to leave South Africa after living there illegally for a long period of time with a world passport, a form of ID in which the government did not accept. The hip hop artist was arrested and had to issue a formal apology in order to be released.
