Babymetal Announced to Support Guns N’ Roses Reunion Tour in Japan

Part J-Pop, part Heavy Metal, but all-girl encompassing group Babymetal have not only taken their bizarre mash-up of the two genres by storm in Japan, but by America too. While the ladies known as Babymetal continue to tour and promote their wildly successful sophomore release Metal Resistance, the trio has garnered the attention of the kings of hair(ish) metal, Guns N’ Roses.

As GNR continues to cash in on their long-awaited and now evidently fruitful reunion, they have decided to add on an additional five shows in Japan — a subsequent “mini tour”. Babymetal is on board for four of the five gigs. This will be GNR members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan’s first time visiting the country in a decade, and according to Consequence of Sound,

“The J-pop metal trio will take the stage with GNR for four shows across the country in January. ‘I am really happy that we’ve been confirmed as support on the upcoming Guns N’ Roses tour,’ the band’s Su_Metal said in a statement. ‘And it’s happening in Japan!! We’re going to create a live performance that shows how wonderful Japan is together with everyone in the audience on that tour.’

While Guns N’ Roses can now add highest grossed tour in North America to their long list of ongoing feats within the music industry, their Japanese contemporaries also welcome 2016 as a milestone kind of a year. For, the teenage trio are also preparing to go on the road with the Red Hot Chili Peppers later this December, on the Chili’s UK leg of le tour. Cheerio Babymetal! Or, “arigatou gozaimasu Japan?”
