Have you ever seen something so heartwarming that you can’t possibly ever see anything more dear or sweet? Well throw whatever you had in mind away, because here’s your new sweetest thing. Bedstock is an online, on-demand music festival where artists perform their work in bed in solidarity with seriously ill, bedridden children. In it’s third year, the festival offers an even more diverse palette of performances.

This year, artists such as Panic! at the Disco, Tegan and Sara, Warpaint, Jenny Lewis, Moby, and so many more great musicians contributed to Bedstock, offering a homemade video of themselves in bed, performing an acoustic song.

In an interview with Billboard, Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara praised the event, saying “The idea is so simple, to perform from bed for those who can’t leave theirs. It truly touched us to consider what it might be like for those kids to have an opportunity to see a massive number of musicians perform for their them in an intimate setting.”

Bedstock started off in 2014, with artists such Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit or Chromeo contributing tracks and collaborating with MyMusicRx to raise awareness and charity funds for the millions of children stuck to their mattresses, fighting life-threatening illnesses.

The event occurs every year the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, in a way to offset the consumerist nature Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

But Bedstock is more than just musicians: on their website, every year comes with a “Music Stage,” where all the musicians’ videos are posted, but there is also the “Kids Stage” and the “Writers Stage.” The Kids Stage offers a place for the bedridden children to post their own videos of them performing their favorite songs, allowing them to take part in the festivities. And the Writers Stage allows for children’s book authors to upload videos of themselves reading children’s books.

All in all, the sweet event is not only a great way to see your favorite artists perform in a great, intimate setting, but also great for fundraising and raising awareness for the many seriously ill children.
