The lineup has been announced today for Primavera Sound 2017; the music festival taking place from May 31 to June 4 at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona. The Parc del Fòrum site will be host to the largest part of the program as the Raval neighborhood is recruited for the headquarters of the free program in the center of the city. 2017 will mark the 17th year for this historic festival and they have released daring line-up showcasing both a commitment to the history of contemporary music while still pushing the envelope to continue marking the festival as an international cultural reference. The Primavera Sound 2017 full festival tickets in Barcelona cost 175€ until 7th January and can be purchased here. Also on sale are the VIP Primavera Sound 2017 Barcelona full festival ticket at 300€ until they sell out, as well as the Primavera Pro Basic accreditation at 210€ and the Primavera Pro Premium accreditation at 330€.
Amongst almost two hundred artists slated to perform the lineup includes none other than Canadian band fronted by Win Butler and Régine Chassagne Arcade Fire, Bon Iver will be performing tracks from his most recent LP 22, A Million, visionary Frank Ocean, the xx, Aphex Twin, icon Grace Jones, Slayer, Solange, and Northern Irish artist Van Morrison at the top the bill.
UPDATE (5/29): Frank Ocean has cancelled his headlining appearance at Primavera Sound citing “production delays beyond his control” – the same excuse given when he dropped out of Sasquatch! Festival and Hangout Music Festival earlier this year. He still has several festival appearances coming up in the next few months, including FYF Festival, which he dropped out of at the last minute in 2015 (to be replaced by Kanye).
