Richard D. James’ prolific output does not correlate with his number of live appearances.
The artist, most commonly known as Aphex Twin, rarely appears live. However, James announced today Aphex Twin will perform at Field Day London, which happens on June 3 in Victoria Park . He announced earlier this fall he would make his first U.S. based show in a eight years, playing Houston’s Day for Night festival on December 17.
Field Day London confirmed the Aphex Twin appearance via a teaser clip published to their social media channels–view it below. The festival’s website currently consists solely of Aphex Twin’s logo.
Aphex Twin released a new EP, Cheetah, earlier this year to universal acclaim. Within the past three years, he’s released a full-length LP (Syro) and two additional EP’s (Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments pt2 EP, and the Orphaned Deejay Selek (2006-2008) EP. µ-Ziq (aka Mike Paradinas) recently reissued his 1996 collaborative album with Richard D.
