The Swedish rock metal group, Katatonia, have officially announced that they will be headlining their own tour of North America in March and April of 2017 in support of their latest release of their last studio album The Fall of Hearts.
Reminiscing on previous tours, the founding member and guitarist Anders Nystrom reflects that they did 2 North American tours in support for their album Dead End Kings. It has been over three years since the last tour with Cult of Luna. With their new album The Fall of Hearts, they are eager to cross the Atlantic to pick up where they left off the fans of North America. Vocalist Jonas Renkse introduced some of the bands that will join them for the tour. The band is very eager to announce their very own headline tour for the album. They have also invited the post-rock group Caspian and new upcoming act Uncured.
The Fall of Hearts was released back in May 20 via Peaceville as a follow up to the 2012’s Dead End Kings recorded at Stockholm’s Studio Grondahl & Tri-lamb studio. The album was produced by Anders Nystrom and Jonas Renkse while the mixing and mastering was done by Jens Bogren(Opeth, Ihsahn, Devin Townsend) at Fascination Street Studios with Karl Daniel Liden(Switchblade, The Ocean, Greenleaf) as engineer. Finally the dark desolate album artwork was created by Katatonia designer and illustrator Travis Smith. This is the first album from Katatonia to feature new drummer Daniel “Mojjo” Moilanen along with newly recruited guitarist Roger Ojersson(Tiamat).
