Documentary About Fat Wreck Chords Release History Released

Record label Fat Wreck Chords is the feature of a recently-released documentary called A Fat Wreck: The Punk-U-Mentary on November 22 through the Orchard and Something Kreative. The documentary is released through Blu-Ray/DVD, iTunes, Google Play, Vimeo and Amazon.

Fat Wreck Chords is a independent record label founded by Fat Mike, also known as Michael John Burkett, and Erin Kelly-Burkett in 1990. Originating in San Francisco, California, the record label has signed many artists and bands such as Strung Out, Descendents, NOFX. The record label mainly focuses on artists in the punk rock genre.

The documentary is about the creation and progress of the record label, celebrating the twenty five year journey the existing label has taken.The film was directed by Shaun M. Colón and was written by Greg Pratt.

According to Exclaim, the film is mix of puppet reenactments and interviews with label founders and artists/bands the record label has signed such as Laura Jane Grace, members of Lagwagon, Good Riddance, No Use for a Name, Propagandhi and others. According to Brooklyn Vegan, the film also includes appearances by members of Bad Religion, Against Me!, Foo Fighters, etc.

Through Fat Wreck Chord’s record label, NOFX released a new album Six Year on Dope.
