In 1976, the legendary and timeless band, Rush, released the album 2112. Now, coming up on the 40th anniversary of the album, band’s are coming together and performing covers of classic songs for the reissuing of the work. From Dave Grohl to Billy Talent, many artists and bands are doing tracks, but perhaps one is more surprising than the rest. Alice In Chains is breaking their three year fast of studio recordings, putting out version of the song “Tears” by Rush.

With a metal genre approach, Alice In Chains puts a new spin on “Tears.” Harmonic guitar, instrumental arrangement, and a visceral voice, the components of Alice In Chains provide the correct amount of what is needed for a justified cover. It does the original justice while making it their own.

The reissue comes out in the middle of December, the 16th. Remastered and inclusive of other special features, the album comes with a decent amount of anticipation.
