WATCH: Kate Bush Gets Hyperthermia Filming New Video for Classic Song “Dream of Sheep”

Often times, a fan can overlook the hardships an artist will go through in order to portray their artistic vision correctly. For English singer-songwriter Kate Bush this couldn’t be more of a reality. Most of her album Before the Dawn, set to be released shortly, was recorded live while performing in London. However when it came to her 1985 hit song “And Dream of Sheep,” this method didn’t quite do it for her and she needed something a little more drastic.

In a song about a person desperately stuck in the ocean, Bush decided to film the music video while submerged in a water tank at Pinewood Studios. Her creative vision came with a price when the singer contracted hypothermia after spending countless hours in the water.

On her official website, Bush noted “Everyone agreed it had added to the authenticity of the performance.” There’s no disagreeing with her there, as you could even tell by the paleness in her skin and expression on her face that it was freezing. The music video has already racked up almost 100,000 views in less than 24 hours. Click below to watch the whole video for yourself.

Kate’s upcoming live album Before the Dawn has a December release date. The album will be a huge three disk set loaded with Kate’s material so be on the lookout.

After an extended 12 year hiatus, Kate Bush stepped back onto the music scene in 2005. She released her tenth studio album 50 Words for Snow in November of 2011 which was widely recieved by fans and critics. In 2014 Kate Bush announced set of live performances for the firs time in 35 years.
