Doomtree MC Sims suffered a recently suffered a crushing blow to his ability to produce new music. Thieves broke into his tour van, stealing all his production equipment and live gear.
Sims first notified fans of his misfortune via GoFundMe, calling on fans to help raise funds for replacement gear. His fans responded quickly, raising nearly $19,000 in less than 24 hours. The MC thanked his fans later that day for their rapid response.
Doomtree producer Lazerbeak also posted about Sims’ misfortune. He thanked the Doomtree fans, and said expressed gratitude that Sims will continue to be able to produce new music.
Sims recently released his third studio album, More Than Ever. To date, he’s released three solo LP’s and four EP’s. He’s featured prominently on each Doomtree release, and has contributed guest bars on numerous Doomtree member productions.
Collectively, Doomtree has issued three LP’s, and each member has released at least one solo LP through the Doomtree label.
