Following a particularly contentious and divisive election day, Atlanta four piece garage rock outfit Black Lips just released what they call an “anarcho style punk song,” by the name of “Deaf Dumb and Blind.” The band tweeted that they “felt like making an anarchy style punk song after last night,” when Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump in the presidential election.
The Black Lips are not the only musicians to have weighed in on the controversial vote. Best Coast have opened up an email for those who feel “scared, discouraged, or unsafe.” Artists like Thom Yorke of Radiohead, Chance the Rapper, Rihanna, Win Butler of Arcade Fire, M.I.A., Mick Jagger, Lil B, and Mitski have all put out their opinions, mostly negative.
The song comes 2 years following the band’s last album, Underneath the Rainbow, from 2014. Check out the song below.
